Hi Niki. Thanks for joining. I think its going to be great because now we can all share journal pages that we make, even those without video capabilities. Or else get immediate answers to journaling questions or just share inspiration.

Its funny right, when you cant make things happen in real life (i.e. I have no art friends) how amazing it is to instantly create a world in which its easy to meet yOur kind of people. I LOVE this.

What an awesome idea to create a community for this Suzi! You so ROCK! :) And thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog. Yes, writing in more than one blog is just too nuts! I decided I needed to simplify things 'cause I was just spreading myself way too thin. I think I had something like 4 or 5 blogs at one point....crazy!

Speaking of that, I probably won't be able to participate here alot until after my big show next weekend. Most of my time (what my little boy will let me have anyway LOL) is being spent getting new work ready for that, but once that's all done I'm so gonna be hanging out here and working in my journal! :D Much love hon! xo

Thats ok if youre not here too much. I just thought there should be one room in which anyone could upload work since not all people make videos on youtube. Plus beginners can get advice from people who have been doing this for awhile, and get more inspiration that from just me! I dig the group collaberative thing. I never want anything to just be about me.

Hello friends...I'm islandsunshyne over on eBay/YT. I'm happy to be a part of this new community - to be able to interact with others who share my love for art and creativity! I'm also doing the Art Journal but haven't had time to do the videos just yet...working on that this week. Hopefully I'll have them up in a few days.

Hi Everyone,

Christine from Arizona here, Suzi love to read your blog and watching your videos.! I have been dabbling in art journals, collage and mixed media for about four months now and I have to tell you that the art journals were the hardest for me but since I watched your videos that has changed! Your enthusiasm is so contagious and I just love your work and attitued. I have created about 4 two page entries since Monday and I'm so excited about making more.

First question: what brand/type of journal do you use? What have you found the most durable?

Suzi is using a Moleskine in her videos... http://www.moleskine.com/eng/default.htm
It comes in different sizes and also for different utilities... like white paper for sketchbook, more thick paper for watercolors, stripped for travelers notes, and one for music makers! with the pentagram on it!
Moleskine´s sketchbooks have a very durable cover, it allows you to clean it up when you draw paint on it.

hi honey. you feel like my new best Friend, which i hope is not wEird for you (apparently you have struck the hearts of many! =) ...an now look, all these other creative ones to plAy with! this will be most most LiberAtinG. i have been following Along in your journal (under "dawn") - i Am painting instead of journaling right at the moment (4 Paintings IN 4 days now), but *dang* i am inspired to journal 2. gee wiz! =) yes, yes, i can do both! heehee - cuz look at you ...doing it All ...and , alla sudden, you're kind-a like, a celebrity now! =) hoW HaPpi! there is like this big oceanic surge to create. we were all magnetized to this point it seems in this particular moment.

So happy to start on an art journal. Yeah! Something for me! I have started on the first assignment but am waiting on a picture to use. Also, stopped today and picked up a few things from a scrap booking store to make it exciting. Can't wait to make pockets.

LOL Why don´t you draw one, kid style about how did you look like when you were 5. Let your little girl that you alwaysshow you got draw a picture of you when you were 5. or ask your kids to do so.

Hello from the east coast -of Scotland, that is.
#I've been really enjoying the YT videos. Such a fun style! I've been puddling around playing in an art journal for a couple of years now but I always LOVE new ideas and insoiration. I've also been making attempts with paint too but it worries me a bit. I'll get over it.
Suzi, your style is adorable and so enabling. What a buzz around blog land. I've yet worked ou (ie paid sufficient attnetion to) where /how to insert a pic. If you need to see that I have a blog at blogspot under Alteredheart.

To have your pic added in one of your post its easy!
1- go to http://www.photobucket.com and sing in.
2-Upload there any picture you want.
3-they will gave you a link or url. Copy it.
4- come here...make a post and select add multimedia... PASTE there the link photobucket gave you.
5- Voila!

If this works, you will see that I did it a bit in Suzi's style as I always learn something new trying something completely different.

you can also see that sometimes the paper DOES curl, even if you don't use water:-) This is a journal from dickblick.com, and it's not high quality paper.

Has anyone tried actually drawing pictures w these and if so, what do you blend them with (besides fingers)? And I need to experiment with what can be done over them, so if there are any heavy Portfolio users out there, I'd love to connect! :-)

Have you dont full paintings with regular oil pastels? Ive only used them along with other media so I cant help you. what kind of look are you going for? just curious.
